Tokaji Oremus Aszú 6 Puttonyos originates from the prestigious vineyards of the region, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. In this environment, high quality grapes affected by botrytis, known as noble rot or Aszú, are meticulously harvested and selected one by one in the vineyard. The vinification process of Tokaji Oremus Aszú 6 Puttonyos follows the centuries-old method. Six puttonyos (six 25 kg baskets of botrytized or Aszú grapes) are added to the must in a 136-liter Hungarian Gönc oak barrel. The noble berries macerate and after one or two days, when they have increased in size, they are gently pressed. Fermentation is extremely slow, extending up to two months. Subsequently, the Aszú berry essence is added and the wine is aged for two and a half years in new Hungarian oak barrels.
