Many years ago Salvador Aguilar started the business in Els Poblets, a small village next to Denia, where the winery was located at the roadside. Salvador sold wine all over the region, gaining a loyal clientele who appreciated his good wine. Those were times when the cart was used as a means of transport and the measure of time was different.

At first Salvador was alone, but little by little the family grew and his five children joined the business. They traveled around La Marina selling the wines they had already begun to produce, some sons attended the store and others helped their father sell with their bicycles.

With the passage of time Salvador’s sons took new directions and one of them, Salvador also by name, decided to move to Ondara and continue with the family business. The first location was the current “Destilerías Aguilar”, located on the road to Pedreguer, where our own liqueurs are produced, to later acquire the old “Destilerías Boluda” in Ondara, becoming since then what is our current wine cellar, “Bodega Aguilar”.

In that winery they sold wines of the region and liquors of own manufacture. The third generation joined the family tradition, his daughter Dora began her first steps in the winery, advising customers, and his son-in-law Paco, who promoted the growth of the company, opening new markets.

Over time, that family business moved into the manufacture and marketing of its own liqueurs and expanded its customer base, always loyal to Salvador’s good work. The winery was transformed and began to incorporate wines from the best areas of Spain and delicatessen products.

This tradition continues with the fourth generation, Carmen and Borja, being the promoters of the current Aguilar Group, a centenary company, where the latest technologies have been incorporated in the manufacture and development of products, positioning itself as one of the main leading companies in our market and with a clear vocation towards our customers.
